Every walk leaves something behind on your dog. Pollen off the grass verge in spring, dust and road grit from the sidewalk, whatever was on the trail in between. It rides home on the coat, the tummy and the paws, and then it comes indoors, onto the rug and the sofa and the end of the bed.

What it is. A rinse-free, water-based mist for coat and paws. Distilled water carries Aloe Ferox leaf extract — South Africa's bitter aloe — along with rooibos, Kigelia africana fruit extract and a little buchu leaf. There are no essential oils in it at all, and that is deliberate: this is a spray meant for daily use.

How it works. Nothing is being scrubbed. Damping the coat lightly lifts the film of surface residue away from the hair so a cloth carries it off, rather than a dry towel pushing it deeper in. That is the whole mechanism, and it is why ten seconds with the mist does more than a minute of dry wiping. It is a maintenance step between baths, not a replacement for one — a properly muddy dog still needs the tub.

The botanicals. Aloe Ferox has a long history in Cape skincare and is why the mist leaves a coat soft rather than tacky. Rooibos is naturally rich in antioxidants. Kigelia and buchu are Cape-grown, and like every botanical we buy from South Africa they are sustainably harvested and ethically sourced. Free from parabens, sulfates and artificial fragrance, so what you smell is the plants.

How to use it. Shake gently. Mist over the coat, tummy, legs and paws after a walk or outdoor play — enough to dampen but not to soak. Wipe down with a cloth, or let it air-dry. Use it as often as you like.

Good for. City dogs coming in off pavement, dogs who bring the garden in with them, feathered legs and low-slung tummies that collect everything, and any household that would rather not bath a dog twice a week.

Storage and shelf life. Store cool and dry, and use within six months of opening.

Safety. For dogs only, external use only. Avoid the eyes. Not suitable for cats. Discontinue if irritation occurs.
