Itchy Paw Soak

When the paws won't stop, a warm soak is the oldest trick there is, and this one puts Epsom salts together with South African botanicals for fast, foot-deep relief. Five minutes in the bowl, and your dog steps out comfortable again.

A soothing Epsom salt and botanical soak for itchy, irritated paws.

  • Epsom salts: to draw out and soothe tired, irritated paws
  • Aloe Ferox: South Africa's bitter aloe, to calm angry skin
  • Rooibos and rosemary: botanicals long valued for soothing the skin
  • A simple five-minute soak: reaches between the toes where the itch hides

Colt approves. Finish bath day with a mist while the coat is damp, and keep the salmon oil going with dinner.

Description

How to use it

A scoop dissolved in a bowl of warm water, deep enough to cover the paws. Five to ten minutes standing or sitting in it, then pat dry between the toes and let them finish in the air. Twice a week while things are bad and once a week to stay on top of it. After a walk through road salt or a mown field is the obvious time.

What it is for

Paws that get licked, chewed and nibbled, and pads roughened by heat, grit or salt. It washes off what is sitting on the skin and leaves the paw comfortable. A paw that is swollen or has a sore that will not close is one for your vet.

What is in it

Epsom salts, Aloe Ferox, rooibos and rosemary extract.

What goes with it

Dry the paw properly afterwards and a balm goes on better, which is why we suggest the two together. For paws that stay damp between washes, the Yeast Defence Powder is the step after that.

Keeping it

Somewhere dry with the pouch sealed. Salts clump if they get at any moisture.
