Classic Pupcake

A birthday cake your dog can actually eat. Sweet potato and apple sauce baked into a soft oat-flour cake, then topped with mashed potato frosting tinted with plants rather than dye. We bake each one the week you need it, in the size and the colours you pick.

A celebration cake for dogs, in 4 inch or 6 inch.

  • Moist without being heavy: the vegetables in the batter do that job, not sugar.
  • One dog and a photograph, or a room full of them: pick the size to match.
  • Finished for the dog in question: their name and age in cookies, a Happy Birthday topper and a candle.
  • Colour from food: beetroot, turmeric, spirulina, butterfly pea flower, red cabbage and blueberry.
  • Local delivery or market pickup, free, because we bake these fresh and do not post them.

Always supervise your dog with any chew. Remove small end pieces. Introduce new proteins gradually if your dog has a history of food sensitivity, and stop feeding if you see loose stool or itching within 48 hours.

How to order

Pick your size and colours, then your collection or delivery date at checkout. We need 4 days notice, and the calendar will only offer you weekdays. The order form is where your dog's name, their birthday, any dietary notes and anything else you want us to know go in.

Free local delivery to Huntsville, Madison, Nashville and Chattanooga, or free pickup from any of our market stalls. We do not post cakes. Fresh frosting and a courier do not get along, and we would rather you had it in good condition than at all costs.

About our colours: please read before choosing a custom colour

We use natural food colouring only. No dyes, no lakes, no artificial pigment of any kind. Colour comes from beetroot, turmeric, spirulina, butterfly pea flower, red cabbage and blueberry powder. Shades therefore vary from batch to batch and we cannot guarantee an exact match to a swatch, a party palette or a photo.

Our cake batter contains sweet potato, which leaves a permanent underlying orange tinge that we have to work with. Every colour laid over it reads warmer than you may expect: pinks go coral, blues go teal, whites go cream, greys go beige, purples go dusty. This is simply what food-only colour looks like, and we would rather be straight with you now than have you disappointed on the day. If you need a specific shade, message us before you order and we will tell you honestly whether we can get close.

Keeping it

Keep it refrigerated and bring it out half an hour before you want to cut it, which is when the frosting is at its best. Slice it to the size of the dog eating it: a cake day still comes out of the day's calories, and a tenth of them is the usual guide.
